Blackpool vs West Brom Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in FA Cup Predictions
Blackpool are struggling in League One and most recently, lost 2-1 away to Bristol City, their second straight defeat, and as they return home, to take on West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup, a return to winning ways will be the target. West Bromwich Albion aren’t doing better in the Premier League either. Blackpool will be glad to be playing at home after two straight away matches and they head to this game having managed four wins, three losses and six clean sheets in their last 10 matches. They have enjoyed better returns at home; they are unbeaten in their last six matches at Bloomfield Road. In the six home matches they have won five and kept four clean sheets. In the last 10 home games, Blackpool have managed to score in eight and four times they have scored two goals or more. They have however conceded two or more goals in three of the 10 home matches. A run of four wins in their last six FA Cup matches will inspire confidence in the League One side and as they meet West Brom for the first time since 2011, stretching the good run will be top of their targets. Blackpool have one win in the last seven meetings but lot has changed between the two sides since 2011 and the hosts will be hoping to add to West Brom’s pressures.
The biggest pressure for West Bromwich Albion at the moment is to stay in the Premier League. Their first season after promotion isn’t going so well and after 17 matches, they have managed just eight points. The Baggies are one of two sides in the league yet to hit 10 points and the bad run has already seen a change in management. Sam Allardyce, a former Blackpool manager has been handed the job but in his reign so far, nothing much has changed. Allardyce has been in charge for four games now, and lost three. In the four matches he’s been in charge, the team has scored once and conceded 13 goals. West Brom have no clean sheet in the last seven matches, and have just one in 12 matches. They have played 19 matches this season and won just two. None of the two wins has come in their last seven matches, while they have won just one of their last 17 games. In eight of their last 15 matches, West Brom have failed to score and they are winless in their eight away matches this season, and the last 10, stretching back to last season. Some consistency in terms of scoring in away games has been seen though, with the Baggies hitting the net in the last three away matches, and in seven of the last 10. However, they have managed to score twice in just one of the last 10 away matches – in the 5-2 loss to Everton – and will be hoping for better times, after registering five wins in six earlier meetings with Blackpool.

Our Blackpool vs West Brom Prediction
West Bromwich Albion should be the superior opponent here but their away form really lets them down, and furthermore, they have been among the poorest performers this season. They have conceded 13 goals this season and with a priority to stay in the Premier League, manager Sam Allardyce has already hinted at making changes for this game. We doubt Blackpool will use fringe players, and this should give them the edge in this game. They are also playing at home, where they have done so well and in this we will go with a Blackpool win.
