Blackpool vs Millwall Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Devesh Jaganath in Championship Predictions
The race for promotion playoff spots and league survival is reaching a boiling point in the Championship, and on Friday, Blackpool will play hosts to Millwall in a match of huge significance at either end of the table. Blackpool are currently second-from-bottom in the Championship, with 41 points after 44 games and three points away from safety. With just two games left in their season, Blackpool are playing for their lives in this one. If the hosts lose here and Huddersfield Town picks up even a single point in their match against Cardiff City, Blackpool will be relegated this weekend. In terms of form, the hosts have been unable to string together a good run of results all season and have a record of two wins and four losses in their last six matches, while their record at home this season reads as (W6 D6 L10) in 22 matches at Bloomfield Road. It’s now or never for Blackpool, though it doesn’t look good for them against a side that is over 20 points better off in the league.
Meanwhile, Millwall have been in and around the promotion playoff spots for much of the second half of the season and will see this as an excellent opportunity to move back into the top six heading into the final weekend. The visitors are currently the first side outside the playoff spots, in seventh, with 65 points in 44 matches. They are behind Sunderland in sixth only on goal difference. Millwall missed out on great opportunities in recent weeks, including unexpected losses to Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City, and, most recently, the bottom-club Wigan Athletic 2-1 last week. Millwall have seen their form dip at the worst possible time and have a record of just one win in their last seven league matches, along with two draws and four losses. Millwall have taken 27 points from a possible 66 on the road this term and come into this one having failed to win any of their last three (D1 L2). The visitors won the reverse fixture 2-1, and with goal difference looking like it could play a role in the playoff race, Millwall will have to target not just a win here, but a win by a decent margin.

Our Blackpool vs Millwall Prediction
Despite their dip in form in recent weeks, Millwall comes into this one as the favourite on most bookmakers' odds. However, playing for survival, Blackpool will not be a pushover, and they will be encouraged by looking at their opponent's poor recent form. With so much on the line for both sides, this could be an exhilarating encounter, and we are backing Millwall to take the points but opt for some safety with our money back for the draw. Therefore, our Blackpool v Millwall prediction is Millwall Draw No Bet.
