Two struggling teams, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City, meet at Ewood Park on Saturday knowing that a win would give them a huge boost and put an end to a poor run of results. The home side have not won a Championship game in eight and are the worst team in terms of conceding goals in the division. In fact, if it wasn't for Sammie Szmodics division leading 16-goals so far this season, Rovers would be in real relegation trouble. Their games do tend to produce goals, with an average of 3.34 scored in their games this season, but a lot of those goals have been going against Rovers. Their poor run of form has seen them drop down to 18th in the table, albeit they are still two places and one point above their opponents on Saturday. 

Stoke City occupy 20th spot in the table after a run of three successive defeats saw their advantage over QPR in 22nd cut to just four points, with Rangers picking up 7 points in their last three games. With 21st place Huddersfield Town also unbeaten in four, the pressure is really on Stoke City boss Steven Schumacher, who moved to the club after a successful spell as Plymouth Argyle manager in December 2023. One positive for Stoke is that their away form is the 13th best in the division, but their games tend to be close call games, with usually just one or a maximum of two goals scored as just 40% of their away games have seen over 2.5 goals.
