A massive relegation scrap is in prospect at Ewood Park on Sunday. Blackburn Rovers, 17th in the Championship, will take on 23rd place Sheffield Wednesday with so much on the line. Only five points separate the two teams with three league games left to play. A win for Blackburn would secure them a place in the Championship next season. It's been a torrid campaign for Rovers after conceding 71 goals, the second-most in the division after Rotherham. Rovers come into this game on the back of a fantastic 1-0 away win at Leeds last weekend, but that was just their second win in 13 games. They have lost four and drawn seven of those matches. Four of their last five home matches have been drawn, with the other a defeat.

For Sheffield Wednesday, the aim is simple. Win games. The Owls have won just one of their last six games and despite losing just two in that run, they have not gained any places on the teams around them who have also picked up around 6 or 7 points. With comfortably the second-worst goal difference in the division the Owls can't rely on that to save them, so points are a must. They are unbeaten in their last three games, winning one and drawing two, scoring five goals in those matches, the last a 1-1 draw against fellow strugglers Stoke City. Manager Danny Rohl actually has a decent record since taking over after Xisco Munoz sacking. However, the Owls entire league season will hinge on what they can get from these final three matches, starting at Ewood Park on Sunday.
