Blackburn vs Rotherham Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Blackburn Rovers will be at home against Rotherham United seeking to get back to winning ways in the English Championship. Rovers are 15th in the standings coming into this fixture while United are rock bottom. Blackburn are in a rut and aside from losing four straight games, have only won once in seven outings. Six of those games have all ended in defeat. Rovers, highly favoured at the start of the season to clinch a playoff spot, are now eight points from the top six. Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men were at the end of a five-goal thriller away to Hull last time out. It was the second game in a row that they had conceded three goals. Blackburn have been away for their last two fixtures and returning home for this game should have them fancying their chances. Half of their 10 victories have come at Ewood Park.

Rotherham United haven’t lost against Blackburn in two encounters now. They drew the first meeting of the season at home 2-2 back in August and a similar result here will be most welcomed. United are struggling at the wrong end of the table and are in danger of going down at the end of the season. Leam Richardson’s men are bottom of the table and have managed only three wins from 25 games. In this festive period, however, they have seen an upturn in fortunes and have picked up four points from their last two games. The Millers shocked playoff-chasing Middlesbrough 1-0 on boxing day and then drew one-all with Sunderland last time out. Both matches had them as hosts though but they will hope to have the momentum to earn a result here. Rotherham, who are yet to win an away fixture in more than a year, are eight points from safety.
