Only three points separated these two sides at the end of last season. Blackburn finished eighth, three places above the visitors in this game QPR. At one stage a play-off position looked possible for both these clubs. Blackburn however only earned 11 points from their final 10 league fixtures to end six points adrift of the final promotion play-off place. It was even worse for QPR who only got 14 points from their final 15 Championship games last season. Blackburn now have Jon Dahl Tomasson in charge but there have been some significant departures in the playing staff during this transfer window. They'll hope to keep striker Ben Brereton-Diaz who scored 22 league goals last season. Goals were a struggle during the run-in last season with eight of the last 10 at home having under 2.5 goals scored in them and Rovers only scoring six goals, half against relegated Derby County.

QPR only finished nine points off sixth place last season. However, for the last 15 games of the season they had the form of a bottom-three club. They have a new coach now with Mike Beale in charge. Away form was a struggle in the second half of last season and only two of the last ten on the road were won. There has been plenty of movement in the transfer window and QPR have a young team. Promotion doesn't look likely but they won't be in a relegation battle either. Go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in this game.
