Blackburn Rovers can move into the Championship promotion play-off positions if beating third-placed Leeds United in the early Saturday kick-off. The home side begins the game in seventh place, two points behind Hull City in sixth. Rovers need to bounce back from a disappointing defeat at bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday. They fell behind in that game but were 1-1 going into the 78th minute before conceding two late goals. They'd won their last two league games before that but the loss at Wednesday was their second in four league fixtures. Overall, the Riversiders have lost nine times in the Championship this season. The same number has been won with just one out of 19 league matches ending level. Home form has seen Rovers win four out of nine but the recent loss to Preston North End was their fifth Championship loss.

Leeds United begin the weekend third in the table. They are seven points behind the second and final automatic promotion spot currently held by Ipswich Town. The Whites are bidding to make it three league wins in a row. The other two over Swansea City and Middlesbrough were both won at Elland Road with them scoring three times in each victory. On the road this season, United have won four of their nine Championship fixtures with three losses. In recent weeks, only one of the last four has ended in defeat. A form guide for the past 15 league games has Leeds third, earning 12 more points than Blackburn. We go for an away win here.
