Gameweek 27 in the Championship will see Birmingham City play host to Swansea City on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently 20th in the league standings, while the visitors are 16th. Birmingham are in desperate need of a positive result. Despite managing to force an FA Cup replay with a 1-1 draw away to Hull City last week, that result marked their sixth consecutive match without a win in all competitions. In league terms, The Blues lost their last outing 3-0 to Leeds United, which left them on 28 points after 26 matches and six points above the dotted line. Over their last ten league matches, the hosts have a record of two wins, three draws and five losses. They have also failed to win any of their last four home games and were shut out by their opponents in two of those matches. However, Birmingham do have a good record against this opponent and are unbeaten in their last seven encounters, with three wins and four draws. 

Meanwhile, Swansea City have laid a solid foundation this season and will be looking to kick on as we head into the second half of the campaign. They have taken 32 points from their 26 league games, and with the mid-table still being very compact, there are just eight points separating them from the playoff spots. The Swans secured their place in the next round of the FA Cup last week by beating Morecambe 2-0 at home. That result extended their recent run of results to three matches unbeaten following a win over West Bromwich Albion and a 2-2 draw against Coventry City on the final matchday of last year. However, on the road, Swansea have failed to win their last three matches and have won only one of their last six. While the Swans took a share of the spoils in the reverse fixture back in August, they are carrying better form into this one and will see this as a very good opportunity to earn the full three points on offer.
