After their loss to Alanyaspor in the last league game, Besiktas were back to winning ways in the Turkish Cup with a 3-1 win over Tarsus Idman Yurdu on Thursday. This Sunday they will be back to Super Lig assignments when they host BB Erzurumspor in Istanbul. Besiktas have so far managed 19 points in the league, and are placed fourth while Erzurumspor are 19th on nine points. In their last five matches, Besiktas have registered four wins, this is after their streak was broken by the 2-1 loss to Alanyaspor. After a run of four winless outings, which had three straight losses, they returned to winning ways with a 5-1 victory over Esenler Erokspor in the Turkish Cup. That was their third win in the last 12 matches, and all these wins have come in the cup competition. They have conceded two or more goals in four of the last six matches and failed to score in three of their last four matches. Defensively, Erzurumspor have not been at their best; in their 12 league matches, they have conceded 21 goals, leaving the team with the joint poorest defence in the league so far. In the last 11 matches, Erzurumspor have no clean sheet and have four straight away losses. They have failed to score in three of the last four away matches and have conceded two or more goals in three of them. Their six away league matches this season have produced two wins and no clean sheet. In January this year, these two sides met twice in the Turkish Cup and Erzurumspor won both.
