Besiktas Istanbul vs Galatasaray Prediction & Betting Tips - Super Lig

Two of the most successful clubs in the history of Turkish Süper Lig will be battling in the Istanbul derby as Beşiktaş hosts Galatasaray on Sunday at the Vodafone Arena. The hosts are currently 3rd in the league standings with 62 points and two points behind second-place although having played a game extra while the visitors are 1st with a lead of six points over Fenerbahçe. After a 2-0 win over Umraniyespor last matchday, Beşiktaş have extended their unbeaten run to nine matches in the league. Crucially for the home fans, they have won seven of their last eight matches with only a draw against Trabzonspor stopping them from having a perfect record. Even their home form is one to be noted with the hosts remaining unbeaten at this venue since mid-September. They are unbeaten in 11 home matches since then and have won eight of their last nine giving confidence of tipping the scales here.

Galatasaray were held to a surprising 3-3 draw last time out against Fatih Karagumruk, which halted a three-game winning run in the league. Thankfully for them, their lead at the top remained in tact as Fenerbahçe also dropped points on that matchday. Yet, with just six points separating the sides at the top a loss in this match could make things interesting. Despite conceding three in that match, Galatasaray remain the best defensive side of the competition with only 23 goals conceded. They will have to be on their toes here though, having lost their last five away league matches against Beşiktaş. This season though, they have been impressing on the road with seven wins from their last eight away league matches.
