A vital game for both sides in the Portuguese league. Benfica lead the table on goal difference from Sporting Lisbon with Porto six points behind. A win for Benfica here will just about end Porto's hopes of winning the title but a win for Porto will really make this a three-way battle for the title. Benfica are in excellent form at present winning their last 11 games in all competitions. The goals are really flowing with 18 in the last four. Of ten home league games nine have been won with the only defeat being against Sporting Lisbon in October, since then they have won five consecutive league games at home by an aggregate of 17-2. Porto really need to get a win here or at least avoid defeat. However, they come into this game having lost two of their last four league games. They have also lost two of their last four away league games. They have a good record against Benfica in recent years but their opponents have improved significantly this season and can get a home win here.
