Portuguese Primeira Liga leaders Benfica have the chance to maintain, if not extend, their eight-point lead at the top of the league standings when they host Vitoria Guimaraes on Saturday in round 25. Benfica have amassed 65 points while fifth-placed Vitoria have 40 points. Benfica come into this match on a six-match winning run and have steamrolled their opponents, scoring 17 goals while conceding just two. With 10 matches left in the season, Roger Schmidt’s men cannot afford to relent as they are on course to win their first title in three seasons. They are also through to the quarterfinals of the Champions League and will want to wrap things up early in the league and see how far they can advance in Europe’s premier competition.

Vitoria Guimaraes are also coming into this match in fine form as they have won five of their last seven matches and suffered defeat just once in this run.
