Benfica’s first appearance in the UEFA Europa League will be in the knockout round playoffs where they play Toulouse. The first leg will be played at the Estádio do SL Benfica in Lisbon on Thursday. Toulouse qualified for Europe for the first time in 14 years and then made it memorable by progressing to the knockouts for the first time. They finished second behind Liverpool in Group E, only by a one-point difference, winning three and drawing two and losing just once. That defeat though, came on the road, when they lost 5-1 to Liverpool. Despite such impressive performances earlier in the campaign, their recent form pegs them back. Toulouse have lost three of their last four competitive matches, winning only one and coming with a lot to improve in this match.
