Only Bayern Munich have beaten Benfica in their last 15 competitive fixtures and they start this game against second-placed Porto third in the table and only a point behind their opponents and two adrift of league leaders Braga. Benfica and Braga are the only two teams left in the league yet to taste defeat and Benfica have won two of their three home games, the other being a draw with fourth placed Sporting Lisbon.They have only lost three of their last 49 home league games but two of those defeats just happen to have come against Porto. They had a good win in midweek though winning 3-2 at AEK Athens in the Champions League taking a 2-0 lead, being pulled back to 2-2 and then getting a 74th minute winner.

You actually have to go back to 2014 for the last time Porto last lost a league game at Benfica and four of their last five away league games against them have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Porto have won both of their away league games this season beating Belenenses and Vitoria Setubal who are both currently in the bottom seven in the table. Just like Benfica in Athens, Porto gave away a 2 goal lead at Belenenses and needed a 96th goal to take all three points. They did the exact opposite in their next game, taking a two-goal lead at home to Vitoria Guimares but then losing 3-2. The goals seem to have dried up recently with their last five matches all having under 2.5 goals scored in them including the important 1-0 Champions League win over Galatasaray, making it three clean sheets in a row. Six of their last seven away league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and that's the tip for this match.
