Benfica were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday night but top the Primeira League by four points. They host Famalicao who are third in the table but struggling for form at present. The league leaders beat Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 at home on Tuesday but that was only good enough to finish third and be transferred to the Europa League. They are in good form though with an unbeaten run of seven games. In the league, they have won 12 out of 13 matches, the other being a loss to second placed Porto. They have won each of their ten league games since that defeat with eight clean sheets. 21 of their last 22 league matches have been won and the last five home league games have been won without conceding.

Famalicao have been the surprise team in the Primeira Division after winning promotion last season. They won six of their first seven league games, drawing the other. Form has slipped since though with only five points earned in their last six league matches including a 2-1 loss at 16th placed Portimonense. Away form has seen them win three out of seven league games but they only have one point from their last three. Benfica look far too strong for their opponents and can win this match leading at both half and full time.
