Benfica and Casa Pia will hope to rise from their losing starts to the season when they meet in the Primeira Liga on Saturday. The two sides are in the bottom positions in the standings after false starts. If you are looking to bet on the match, here’s a preview and prediction to check out.

It is unusual for Benfica to lose the opening game of the season but it was the case last week. They suffered a 2-0 away loss at Famalicão, conceding early in the game, then in stoppage time.

That was the second straight loss against Famalicão. It was an unexpected result and now the 38-time league champions have no win in their last two matches. Their 5-0 win against Arouca in May remains their only one in the last four outings and they failed to score in two of them.

Casa Pia are also coming from a match week one defeat, though theirs was at home, falling 1-0 to Boavista. Miguel Reisinho’s penalty goal after 77 minutes settled the game, leaving Casa Pia with just a win in four matches.

Unlike Benfica who also have one win in four, Casa Pia lost the other three matches. They failed to score in two of the four matches. With five wins in 10 away league matches, Casa Pia will feel they can get something from their visit to Benfica.

The last time they were there they actually walked away with a point after forcing a 1-1 draw. That, however, is the only time they avoided defeat in their four meetings with Benfica. The visitors also failed to score in the other three matches.
