Belgium vs Côte d'Ivoire Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
The UEFA Nations League and African Cup of Nations qualifiers are set to return and teams from Europe and Africa are in preparation for the same. Belgium, who have an upcoming game against England will warm up with a friendly match in Brussels against Ivory Coast, who are preparing for a November game against Madagascar. On the same day they are playing Ivory Coast, Belgium should have been facing New Zealand at home but that was called off and the African giants slotted in. Ahead of this game, Belgium have had a great run, winning each of their last 12 matches. Their most recent game came in September, as they whacked Iceland 5-1, having come from a goal down. The goal conceded against Iceland, was the third for Belgium in a run of 11 matches; they have kept eight clean sheets in the last 11 matches and whenever they conceded, it has been below two goals. Their only loss in 19 matches came almost two years ago, against Switzerland in November 2018 in the Nations League. In each of their last 14 matches, Belgium have scored two goals or more while in their last six matches at home, they have scored three or more. They have however conceded in their last two home matches, coming from behind in both. These two nations last faced off in 2014, which was also the first meeting between them, and it ended 2-2.
Ivory Coast on their part, last played in November 2019, and lost 2-1 away to minnows Ethiopia in an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. They were first to score in the game through Tottenham Hotspur’s Serge Aurier but the Ivorians were trailing by the 25th minute and couldn’t recover. With the AFCON qualifiers returning in November, Ivory Coast will need to get in shape and apart from Belgium, they will face Japan before the Madagascar game in AFCON qualifiers. Ivory Coast, former African champions, have two losses in their last five matches and three clean sheets in their last 11 matches but they have scored in each of their last four matches. They have scored more than one goal in just three of their last 12 matches and will want to improve on this when they face Belgium, who haven’t been conceding a lot of goals recently. The west Africans have no clean sheet in their last three away matches and have lost their last two, conceding twice in each of the two.

Our Belgium vs Côte d'Ivoire Prediction
For the second time in their history, Belgium and Ivory Coast are set to meet. Just like the first time in 2014, this will be a friendly match, and we don’t expect the competitive nature that would have come with these two facing off in a major tournament. Still, there will be a big pool of talent on show and we expect an exciting game. Belgium have won their last 12 matches and will definitely head here as favorites over the Ivorians, who have been shaky in recent times. Ivory Coast have two straight away losses heading to this game and they have not been scoring a lot in recent matches. For Belgium, it is the opposite; they have scored three or more in their last six home games though they have conceded in their last two matches at home, being forced to come from behind. Sticking with this script, we expect Belgium to win but with the pool of talent Ivory Coast take to the game, we expect them to score at least once. We will thus go for a 3-1 win in Belgium’s favor.
