Belgium vs Croatia Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies

Belgium will be taking on Croatia in one of the top friendly matches lined up ahead of Euro 2020. This game comes on the back of draws by both nations in their last friendly matches. Belgium drew 1-1 with Greece while Croatia were held 1-1 by Armenia. Kevin De Bruyne, and Eden Hazard, who have had issues with injury ahead of the Euros, did not feature in this game, same to Thibaut Courtois. Hazard and De Bruyne are some of the best creative minds in the Belgian team at the moment and coach Roberto Martinez will hope they can be fully fit for the Euros. The draw with Greece was their second in three matches, but Belgium are unbeaten in the last eight matches and have scored two or more goals in three of the last five. The one area to improve on is in defence, Belgium having managed two clean sheets in 11 matches.
Croatia were lackluster in their draw with Armenia and in reality, they’ve been on a decline since reaching the 2018 World Cup final. There are concerns the team is aging, with a few key players in their sunset years, and the team’s pace has considerably gone down in the last three years. One of the 2018 stars, Ivan Rakitic has already retired from international football, but Luka Modric is still around to steer the team along with Ivan Perisic. Perisic scored the goal against Armenia, making it two goals in the last two matches and will be hoping to extend this against the world’s best ranked nation. He scored against Belgium in a World Cup qualifier in 2012 and with Croatia having scored against Belgium in each of the last six meetings, Perisic will be keen to extend this run. Croatia have had a poor run lately though, with two wins in their last eight matches, and only two clean sheets in 12 matches. They have played 13 away matches after their World Cup final defeat to France, and Croatia have managed just two wins in that run.
