Romania will seek to move closer to sealing qualification for Euro 2024 when they play Belarus away on Thursday. The two nations are competing in Group I of the qualifiers where Romania are second and Belarus fourth. Belarus have seen their chances of qualifying for the Euros for the first time in their history dwindle with each passing round. The White Wings have won only one of their six qualifiers thus far and have lost a further four. Carlos Ferrer’s men and already eliminated Andorra, have lost the joint most matches in the group. With four matches left to play, Belarus sit eight points adrift of the top two qualifying places. A defeat here will end their hopes. The hosts haven’t won or scored in two outings; they lost 1-0 away to Israel last time out.

Romania have never lost against Belarus; they've won four of the six meetings between the two nations. On Match Day 2 at home, they beat Belarus 2-1 and have now won the last two encounters against their hosts. Edward Iordanescu’s men are unbeaten so far in Group I and have won three of their six games. They have amassed 12 points and trail group leaders Switzerland by two points. The Tricolours sit in a precarious position though as third-placed Israel are just a point behind them. Romania got back to winning ways during the last international window in September by defeating Kosovo 2-0 at home. The win ended a run of three straight draws.
