It’s a basement battle between sixth-placed Belarus and fifth-placed Israel at the bottom of Group I of the Euro qualifiers on Friday. This match will be played at the neutral location of Budapest at the Szusza Ferenc stadium. Belarus start matchday three zero points after losing 5-0 to Switzerland and 2-1 to Romania in their first two rounds. These results extend what has been a poor recent run. Belarus have won just one of their last ten matches in all competitions, drawing three and losing six. With the top two teams in the group surging ahead with six points after two matches, Belarus can’t afford a loss here. On that count, they would be happy to play Israel, whom they have defeated twice in their last three head-to-heads.
