Bayern Munich look set for another dominant season in the Bundesliga and they will be hoping to stretch away when they host Werder Bremen in the next round of matches. Ahead of this game, Bayern are top of the log with 18 points and Werder Bremen ninth on 10 points. The hosts are on 10 straight wins, after coming from down to beat Borussia Dortmund in the last game. In the 13 matches Bayern have played this season, they have won 12 and they have scored in each of the 13 matches. The team, which won a treble last season, has been impressive on the scoring front, netting two or more goals in 12 of the 13 matches played so far; their only loss, which was a shock, came at the hands of Hoffenheim. On the defensive side, however, it has not been very good for the Bavarians, as they have no clean sheet in the last four matches and their 13 this season have only produced four clean sheets. As a result, all their matches this season have produced over 2.5 goals. Bayern’s dominance in the Bundesliga is not in question; they have lost just one game and won 25 in their last 27 league matches. Their defensive woes will however be aggravated by the fact that key men Joshua Kimmich and Alfonso Davies are not available while Benjamin Pavard and Jerome Boateng remain doubtful.

Werder Bremen head to this game unbeaten in their last five games, but each of the last four ended in a draw. They haven’t scored more than a goal in their last five matches and have managed just two clean sheets in the eight matches they have played this season. Bremen will want to keep their defence compact for this game; they have conceded more than one goal in just one of their eight matches and they will need more of that here. They are unbeaten in six Bundesliga matches, but will need to do more, as they have just two wins in that period. With just one clean sheet in 13 league matches though, they will struggle to get a good result against this Bayern side. On the attacking side, they will be happy with how things have been going; in their last nine league matches, Bremen have scored in each. Actually, they have only failed to score in one of the last 11 league games, but the defence will be of greater concern, especially with the run of just three clean sheets in 20 away league matches.
