Bayern Munich host Werder Bremen, looking to record another three points in their last home game of 2022. The Bavarians played out an eventful encounter in Berlin at the weekend, managing to claim a narrow 3-2 victory. This positive result put them (temporarily) top of the Bundesliga standings, while it was also their eighth consecutive win in all competitions. Nagelsmann’s men have been in tremendous attacking form of late. They have scored fourteen goals in their last four fixtures and twenty-two in their last five at the Allianz Arena. To add to that, their recent home record against Werder is impressive. They have won nine of their last ten on home turf, scoring at least five goals in a staggering seven of those. 

The Green and White Army recorded their second consecutive league win at the weekend, lifting themselves to an impressive seventh in the standings. Werder had once again their star man Niclas Fullkrug to thank, with the striker’s eight goals in eleven games surely putting his name into contention for Germany’s World Cup squad. The Bremen side have now emerged victorious in four of their last seven games, while they have lost just two of their last nine on the road. The great downside is their torrid record against Bayern, which should be giving them nightmares. They have lost twenty of their last twenty-one encounters against Bayern, conceding eighteen times in their last five at the Allianz Arena.
