Bayern Munich’s first game after winning the Bundesliga title ended in defeat and they will be hoping to get back on track when they host Stuttgart in their next game. The champions have 75 points at the league summit while Stuttgart are battling relegation, currently placed 16th with 29 points. Bayern are coming from a 3-1 away loss at Mainz, their first loss in five matches and third in which both teams have scored in the last five. Defence is not their strongest department; they have just three clean sheets in the last 10 matches, but they make up for it in attack. In each of their last five league matches, Bayern have scored, and three times in them, they’ve hit three or more goals. This will be their last home match of the season and Bayern will be out to give home fans a great showing, which is not the best thing for Stuttgart.

Stuttgart head into this game winless in their last five matches and their stay in the Bundesliga will be in greater danger if they lose here. They are currently in the relegation playoff position, two points above the red zone and four behind the safe zone. Should they lose here and Hertha Berlin win, they will only be fighting to stay in the playoff position. Given Hertha Berlin play a day before, Stuttgart will follow that game keenly. They go into this one having fought to a 1-1 draw with Wolfsburg in the last game, the goal scored by Chris Fuhrich was their second in five matches and it came in the 89th minute.
