Six years in a row Bayern Munich have won the Bundesliga and last season they were 21 points clear of the rest of the league. Hoffenheim finshed third but were 29 points adrift and only 22 points above the relegation zone. Munich were only defeated in one of their home league games last season, that was the final one on the fixture list losing 4-1 to Stuttgart. Before that they had won 14 and drawn two and scored 56 goals at home in the league last season. Another impressive season looks likely and they will be hoping to do better in the Champions League.

Hoffenheim owed their third place finish to their home form with 37 points out of 51. Away from home they weren't anywhere near as successful with just four wins, six draws and seven defeats but it was still good enough to get them into the group stages of the Champions League this season. At one stage last season they went through a run of just two points from seven away league games but picked up a bit towards the end of the season with eight points from four games before also losing to Stuttgart. They lost 5-2 at Munich last season and in ten away league games against them have never come back with a win. That pattern looks like continuing this weekend, go for a home win in this match.
