Current leaders Bayern Munich may need to win this game to end the weekend in top spot. RB Leipzig can go ahead of them earlier in the day before Bayern host fifth placed Borussia Dortmund. Bayern have a two point lead at the top but will be a point behind Leipzig if they can win at Freiburg. The home side only managed a point from two league games against Arminia Bielfeld and Eintracht Frankfurt, the latter being a 2-1 loss. They have bounced back well though with a 4-1 win at Lazio in the Champions League and then a 5-1 home win over FC Koln. Lewandowski scored three goals in those two wins and Gnabyry bagged himself a couple. Bayern are unbeaten at home in the Bundesliga this season with eight wins and three draws. Five of the last six home league games have been won with 21 goals scored. Both teams have scored in each of their last eight home league fixtures. You have to go back to December 2019 for their last home loss (inflicted by Bayer Leverkusen) and they are now unbeaten in their last 21 home Bundesliga games. Home league results against Dortmund have been pretty spectacular The last six have all been won and by an aggregate score of 26-3 (15-0 for the three most recent visits).

Borussia Dortmund are 13 points behind Bayern Munich going into this game. Their title challenge is over and their target now is to get into the Champions League. They begin this set of fixtures three points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt, who they host at the start of April. Dortmund have already lost eight league games this season. It may well be the first time since 2014/15 that they lose at least ten league games in a season. Six away league games have been won this season but five lost. Three in a row ended in defeat with eight goals conceded. Then they got back into winning ways with a 4-0 win at bottom-of-the-table Schalke 04.  Only in one of their last 22 away league games have they failed to score. Trouble is, the clean sheet at Schalke is their only one in the last nine away Bundesliga fixtures. A bet on Bayern to win is the tip here. A side bet on them winning with both teams scored is also a possible winner.
