Bayer Leverkusen have got three points from their first two games in this group and that's exactly what they expected, but it could have been more. The Germans have already knocked one Italian team out of the tournament eliminating Lazio in the play-off round. They got the group stage off to a great start with a 4-1 home win over BATE Borisov. Then they went to Barcelona and with 10 minutes to go were leading 1-0 only for goals in the 80th and 82nd minute to dash their hopes of causing a massive shock. Currently 8th in the Bundesliga and held to a second consecutive draw at the weekend, Leverkusen currently lead their Italian opponents by two points. Roma fans definitely couldn't have predicted their two results so far. They held Barcelona to a draw at home but then suffered a crushing defeat at BATE going 3-0 down inside half an hour. Roma pulled it back to 3-2 but one point from two games just isn't good enough. They are second in Serie A but their away form has seen a loss and a defeat already. It looks as if their form on the road will decide whether they'll be able to qualify from this group. Leverkusen are strong at home and can win this to open up a five point gap between them and the Italians.
