Newly promoted Darmstadt are having a tough reintroduction to the Bundesliga, and will target a first win away to Bayer Leverkusen. This match finds Darmstadt 17th without a point, while Bayer Leverkusen are third on six points after two games. Hosts Leverkusen have been a marvel to watch so far, winning all their three matches – the first a German Cup game. They thrashed Teutonia Ottensen 8-0 in the cup game then followed that with league wins over Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach. Their 3-0 win over Monchengladbach was the second clean sheet in their opening three matches. This Leverkusen side is littered with good attackers and that is their biggest threat going into this game. Victor Boniface’s brace against Monchengladbach made it three goals in three matches so far. Meanwhile, Jonathan Tah has scored in the last two league matches.

Darmstadt haven't done well over the years in this fixture. Before their relegation they had suffered three straight losses to Bayer Leverkusen. In this game they aren’t coming on a great run either.
