The loss to Kasimpasa on the second week of the season remains the only domestic setback for Istanbul, though they earlier suffered an early xit from the Europa League after falling to Burnley in the qualifiers. Save for the two setbacks, it has been a largely fine season so far for Istanbul and they will be keen to stretch that with a home game, against a Malatyaspor side that just returned to winning ways in their last game after  a run of three winless outings. Istanbul have established a fine run of form since their loss to Kasimpasa and they are now on three straight clean sheets and unbeaten in four. They have four straight home wins in the Super Lig, are unbeaten in 10 league games at home and only lost once in 15 home league games. In total, they have 12 wins in their last 15 home games in the league and have only failed to score once in the 15. Malatyaspor on the other hand, have gone through a spell of three winless outing in their last five matches and head to this game hoping for some kind of the biggest upset in the weekend matches. Doing their second season in the Super Lig, they have done well at their standards but they have managed just five wins in the 20 away matches they have played in the league. Malatyaspor have never beaten Istanbul in the three presious meetings between the teams.
