Barcelona plays host to Villarreal at the Camp Nou for this match in La Liga. The home team are currently in second position on the table with 22 points while the visitors are seventh with 15 points. Barcelona are in the midst of a horror run that has seen them win just one of their last four matches. They were soundly beaten 3-1 in the El Classico by Real Madrid in their last match which capped of a miserable ten days for them. This was their first loss of the season in the league while they are hanging on by the skin of their teeth in the Champions League group stage after losing and drawing against Inter Milan. Barcelona will want nothing less than three points in this match if they are to keep speed with Madrid who have now opened a three point gap at the top.

The visitors have struggled recently in the league but their form in the Europa Conference has been nothing short of outstanding as they already qualified as group winner with two matches still to play. Villareal have only lost one of their last seven matches across all competitions with four wins and two draws. They have also proven very difficult to beat away from home with just two losses in their last nine matches on the road.
