Barcelona welcomes PSG at Nou Camp in one of the biggest matches as Champions League returns for the round of 16. Both sides are coming from wins in their domestic leagues and will be seeking glory at the continental stage. The last time these teams faced off, Barcelona won 6-1, registering an aggregate 6-5 win. There’s little sign we may see such a huge score line again but there is a guarantee of entertainment in this clash. Barcelona returned to winning ways in resounding fashion, beating Alaves 5-1 after their 2-0 loss to Sevilla. They now have four wins in five matches, and seven in 10. With a raft of changes after a poor season in the last campaign, Barcelona are still in transition. Their scoring touch remains intact though, with the Catalans having failed to score in just one of the last 18 matches. They have scored a total of 15 goals in the last five matches and in eight of the last 10, they’ve scored at least two. Lionel Messi has been key in this run, with four goals in the last five matches. Barcelona have struggled defensively; they’ve conceded nine goals in the last five matches. Gerrard Pique, who has been out for three months may return in this game after being allowed to train with the team. His return will be a big boost defensively though after three months out, this may not be the best game to reintroduce him.

PSG are on four straight wins as they head to this game but they have been hit by injuries to key players. They will definitely be short in attack, with Neymar and Angel di Maria injured. The Parisians have been decent in defence though, and have three clean sheets in the last four matches. Their last match was against Nice, which they won 2-1 and have now scored two or more in four of their last five matches. Three of their last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have eight wins in the last 10 matches. PSG reached the Champions League final for the first time last season and are aiming for a better finish this time. They finished their group matches with three straight wins but out of the six matches, they managed just two clean sheets.
