Barcelona vs Mallorca Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga
by Joseph King | in LaLiga Predictions
League champions Barcelona will look to put an end to their losing run when they host 11th-place Mallorca for the penultimate match of the 2022/23 campaign. Barcelona have been fantastic this season under the guidance of legendary former midfielder Xavi. Despite a disappointing year in UEFA competitions, recapturing the La Liga title and lifting the Spanish Super Cup should ultimately please the fans. Barcelona are coming off having lost their previous two La Liga fixtures for the first time all season. This is the final match at the Camp Nou for Barcelona in this campaign as they will travel to Vigo to take on Celta on the final day. Expect a strong 11 from Xavi as they look to send the Culés faithful off with a win. Barcelona have been dominant on their home field, in large part down to their absurd defensive record. The Blaugrana have conceded a total of only four goals at home in 18 league appearances. This includes an incredible 25 clean sheets in the campaign, 15 of which have come on home soil.
Mallorca have had a productive year overall, improving five places in the standings from last season. They currently sit 11th and the worst finish they can achieve this year would be 12th. There is an outside shot that Mallorca can qualify for the Conference League. The visitors trail seventh-place Osasuna by three points with two matches remaining. It’s going to be a tough ask as they are heavy underdogs to get anything out of this trip to Cataluña. Mallorca host Rayo Vallecano on the final day of the season and will be confident of a win in that fixture. Mallorca’s impressive league standing has been built off of their strong home results. 32 of their 47 points this season have come at the Iberostar Estadio while only 15 have been earned on the road. Mallorca are coming off a 1-0 home win over Valencia on Thursday, their third victory in the last three outings.
