Barcelona have been on a stroll since recovering from the El Clasico loss, and as they host Granada, they’ve emerged as favorites to win the La Liga title at the end of the season. They are third in La Liga standings with 71 points and face eighth placed Granada who have so far garnered 42 points. Barcelona staged a fine comeback to beat Villarreal in their last game, placing themselves well in the La Liga title chase. They have a game in hand and a win here will see them go top of the table. With just one loss in the last 22 league matches, their league winning credentials aren’t in doubt, and have been helped on by their challengers’ stumbles in the recent weeks. Barcelona have won the Copa Del Rey, already making this a more successful campaign than last season and though still in transition, they can make it better with a double if they win the league. Ronald Koeman has done well and against Granada it is bound to be easier than in their last three matches, which they won convincingly, scoring 11 goals. Barcelona are unbeaten in 13 league matches at home and having beaten Granada in each of the last three meetings, they will be favored to register a fourth.

This is the second meeting between these two sides in 2021, and third of the season. In the two earlier meetings, Granada have conceded nine and scored three. They met in February in the Copa Del Rey and despite Granada leading 2-0 in the 88th minute, they went on to lose 5-3 as Barcelona forced the game to extra time with two goals in the final two minutes. Antoine Griezmann, who has four goals in the last three games, was the destroyer-in-chief then, with two goals in the rout. Granada won’t be any better going to this game; they have three losses in the last five matches, and are without a clean sheet in the five games, conceding twice in three of the five matches. They’ve however failed to score in just one of the five matches, with each of the five producing over 2.5 goals. Granada haven’t enjoyed much playing away from home. They have seven losses in eight away matches across all competitions. In La Liga, they have one win and seven losses in the last 10 away matches.
