Barcelona had been unbeaten in five league games this season and looked to extend that run when going 1-0 up at bottom of the table Leganes  However, goals in the 52nd and 53rd minutes turned the game on its head and Leganes held on for a 2-1 win. Barcelona remain top of the table though because for the first time in three years, both Barca and Real Madrid lost on the same day. They look to get back on track with a home win over Athletic Bilbao who aren't in great form at present. Barcelona are unbeaten at home in their last 39 home league games last losing in September 2016.  They last dropped points at home to Bilbao in 2004 and have won the last and haven't conceded in the last four.

Their opponents have only won one of their five league games this season. That was in their first fixture and unlike Barcelona they did beat Leganes though it took a 93rd minute goal to seal the victory. Their next three league games all ended in score draws leading in all of them and giving away 2-0 leads in two of them. They didn't get a lead in midweek though losing 3-0 at home to Villarreal though it was level with 25 minutes to go. Bilbao start the weekend in 13th place only two points above the bottom three and have a terrible record at Barcelona. Go for a home win with Barcelona leading at both half and full time.
