Azerbaijan vs Serbia Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Nella Wagah | in World Cup Predictions
Azerbaijan used their free weekend to take on Qatar in a friendly match ahead of their Group A match against Serbia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. They lost 2-1 in the friendly match in Debrecen, that coming after a 1-0 loss to Portugal in their opening Group A game. The loss to Portugal means they have no win in the last seven matches; their only win in the last 12 matches came against Cyprus in the Nations League. In terms of group standings, Azerbaijan are fourth without a point while Serbia have four points and top the group. To be able to get something out of matches such as these, Azerbaijan need to score goals, and that has been the major problematic area. The goal in the Qatar friendly is their only one in seven matches, and playing at home, they are winless in the last eight games. In World Cup qualification matches, Azerbaijan have three straight losses and have conceded 11 goals in the last five matches, while scoring three goals. They’ve won just one of the last nine matches in World Cup qualification matches, against san Marino, and lost seven.
Meanwhile, Serbia were saved from defeat by a wrong call in their game against Portugal, which ended 2-2. They conceded two goals as well in their opening game in this group but then survived and beat Ireland 3-2. In terms of attack, Serbia haven’t had issues, scoring 10 goals in the last five matches while conceding four, while keeping three clean sheets in the process. A last minute call that denied Cristiano Ronaldo the winner in the match against Portugal ensured Serbia remain unbeaten in six matches but with just two wins the process. They are also unbeaten in the last five away matches, but with four straight draws heading to Azerbaijan. In the last four World Cup qualification matches, Serbia have scored two or more in three and have just one loss, and nine wins in the last 15. They’ve scored in seven straight away matches in World Cup qualifiers.

Our Azerbaijan vs Serbia Prediction
Serbia have survived in their last two matches, winning one and drawing the other. This time though they may find it easier, facing a side winless in eight home matches. The hosts have also failed to score in six of their last seven matches. Meanwhile, Serbia have scored two or more goals in three of their last four World Cup qualification matches, thus a win to nil for the visitors may do here. With a good record in World Cup qualification matches, go for a correct score 2-0 win for Serbia.
