AZ Alkmaar are third in the table and lookiing more than likely to get the automatic Europa League qualification place. However, they would love to get into the Champions League and are currently five points behind Ajax who are second. Their hopes weren't helped with a 2-1 loss at fifth placed Feyenood but that was their first defeat in 13 games since being beaten by Ajax in mid-December. Their home form is strong with eight wins from 13 games and they have gone seven games without defeat since that loss to Ajax. Of their eight home league wins this season, they only led at half-time in two of them.

Groningen are down in 13th place and eight points above the relegation zone so nearly safe. They have drawn 11 of their league games, a figure only beaten by Enlo who have drawn 12. Recent form sees them on a run of five games unbeaten but four of those have ended in draws. More worrying for them is the fact they have only won one of their last nine league games. That was in their last game, a home win over Zwolle who have lost their last five away league matches.  Away form has seen them win just once on their travels with eight defeats and just 14 goals scored. Groningen have gone seven away games without a win but they have been level at half-time in 11 of their league games. They aren't that easy to beat at present but AZ are in form, especially at home so go for them to get the win but take a chance on the away side holding out for a draw at the halfway stage before losing at full-time.
