Auxerre vs Lens Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Auxerre will go into their final day game at home to Lens in Ligue 1 seeking a win to guarantee survival. The hosts are a place above the relegation zone, two points to the good while Lens have secured second spot. A 1-1 draw with Toulouse in the last game marked a sixth straight outing  for Auxerre without a win. From a possible 18 points, they’ve managed just three.  A consistent scoring run however has seen them finding ththe back of the net in eight of their last 10 matches. However, they’ve managed more than a goal in just two of their last 10 matches. In six of their last seven matches, both teams have scored. This isn’t a game Auxerre have excelled a lot in; they haven't won in the last five meetings with Lens. With a draw in this game, Auxerre could still survive but they will be wary of the fact that 17th placed Nantes have a much better goal difference than them. Nantes are in poor form but their final game is at home to Angers who are bottom of the table and already relegated.

Four wins in the last five matches against Auxerre means Lens come here as favorites. They’ve only failed to win in the 0-0 draw in 2019, in Ligue 2. Lens have gained all they can from the season and will be under no pressure here. Second place has been secured but their title challenger is over. They will be playing in the Champions League for only the third time in their history. In their last outing, Lens thrashed Ajaccio 3-0 for their sixth straight win. That was also the fifth time in six matches that they scored two or more goals. Three of their last four matches have had both teams scoring. Lens have won 10 of their last 12 matches and have only lost one of their last five away matches.
