Augsburg vs Bayern Munich Prediction & Betting Tips - Bundesliga

Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich are in midweek action against Augsburg at the WWK Arena on Wednesday. Clear at the top of the table by four points after 16 games played, Bayern are seeking their ninth successive Bundesliga title. Meanwhile, home side Augsburg are 11th in the table with 19 points from 16 games. Augsburg are enduring a period of struggle with three defeats occurring in their last four outings. They have one of the worst home records in the top flight with only two wins from eight fixtures. Worse still, they are in the midst of an awful run on their patch; five games without a win, the most recent being a 4-1 defeat to Stuttgart. They have not kept a clean sheet in six games. Augsburg will try to take inspiration from their last home game against Bayern, a 2-2 draw in October 2019. 

While a lot has changed since that stalemate, Bayern are currently suffering something of a wobble too. Two successive defeats were followed up by a much-needed victory at the weekend, a 2-1 triumph at home to Freiburg. However, there is no disguising Bayern's shakiness: They have only managed one clean sheet in their last 17 matches across all competitions. That includes DFB Pokal games too, a competition which Bayern exited in humiliating fashion last week, introducing the lower-tier Holstein Kiel to a broader audience. Bayern failed to win four of their previous five away games in all competitions, two of those occurring in the Bundesliga. Despite these damning stats, it remains a fact that Bayern have won 15 of their previous 18 away Bundesliga games. And although they concede goals, having a marksman like Robert Lewandowski in the team means they will probably win anyway. Lewandowski has 21 goals already this season. Back both teams to score.
