This is only Atletico Madrid's second home league game of the season but they start the weekend in third place with three wins and two draws from their five games but are already four points behind Barcelona. They can go second with a win over Sevilla who currently fill that position. Atletico's only other home game saw them defeat Malaga 1-0 who are bottom of the table. Midweek saw them Atletico win 2-1 at Bilbao thanks to two second half goals though their opponents missed a first half penalty. Atletico are unbeaten in their last nine league matches and lost just one of their last eight home league matches.. Sevilla drew their first league game but have won four in a row since then but all those wins have come against sides currently in the bottom half of the table. Both of their away league games have been won 1-0 but before that they had gone six league games on the road without victory. Atletico are in good form, will be glad to be playing at home again and can beat a Sevilla side that have had a reasonably easy fixture list so far this season.
