Real Madrid's title defence is already in trouble and they trail leaders Barcelona by eight points. They can't afford to let that gap get any wider but will have to win away at Atletico Madrid in order for that to happen. Real are third in the table but have already lost two league games including a shock 2-1 loss to newly promoted Girona. That's the only one of five away league games that Real have failed to win but come into this match having lost two of their last three league and cup games including that 3-0 loss away to Tottenham in the Champions League.  Atletico are in fourth on the same number of points as their opponents but only four of their 11 league games have been played at home. The problem they have at present is they draw too many games with three of the last four games ending that way. Their last eight matches have produced just two wins and six draws and just ten goals scored. Their only loss in the last 20 league and cup games was the home defeat by Chelsea in the Champions League where they are struggling to reach the knock-out stages.  This is going to be hard to predict with Real more consistent than they have been for a while, go for both teams to score.
