Atletico Madrid will go into the first of back-to-back home matches when they host Getafe in La Liga. The two sides have had contrasting runs lately, and Atletico come into this game placed fourth, four places ahead of Getafe. Atletico Madrid’s aim to strengthen their top four grip was dented by a 2-0 loss away to Athletic Bilbao in their last game. That was their second loss in the last four matches. Defensively, Atletico have struggled a bit, failing to keep a clean sheet in four of five matches ahead of this. It hasn’t been as bad in attack though, with Atletico only failing to score twice in five matches. In three of their last five matches, Atletico have scored more than once.

Getafe are enjoying a good run of form coming into this game. They have posted three straight wins, a great recovery from the shock 2-0 loss to Las Palmas. In their last 13 matches they have just that one loss. The visitors will definitely come into this game feeling confident enough to stop Atletico. The last time they visited Atletico Enes Unal scored a late equalizer to force a 1-1 draw. They will aim to improve on that here, and having scored two or more in three of the last five matches builds this confidence. To bag three points here would mean massive improvement on their away run in the league. Getafe have posted just one away win in five league games on the road.
