Atletico Madrid are coming off a disheartening defeat to city rivals Real in the Champions League. A loss on penalties at home after they had forced a 2-2 aggregate draw saw them eliminated in the round of 16.
Atleti, especially head coach Diego Simeone, felt hard done by the officiating on the night. They will, therefore, be keen to put all that behind them with a big win in front of their supporters.
