High-flying Mohun Bagan will take on East Bengal at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in the Indian Super League on Saturday afternoon. The Mariners currently lead the league standings while the Red & Gold Brigade are 11th. To the match prediction!

Mohun Bagan have made a solid start to their title defence, having notched up 32 points from their 14 games (W10 D2 L2), which has given them a five-point lead over Bengaluru in second. 

The Mariners enter this match off the back of an impressive 3-0 victory over Hyderabad, marking their sixth win in seven games, with a 2-1 away defeat to Goa being the exception.

At home, the Green & Maroons have been formidable this term, unbeaten after seven top-flight matches (W6 D1 L0). They also scored two or more goals in all but one of the matches in that period.

Meanwhile, East Bengal have struggled for consistency this season, managing just 14 points in as many games, with a record of four wins, two draws and eight defeats to date. 

The Red & Gold Brigade suffered disappointment in their first match of the New Year, coming from two goals down against Mumbai City to level the match at 2-2. Unfortunately, they conceded a late goal in the 87th minute and lost the match 3-2. 

Following four successive away defeats at the start of the campaign, the Torch Bearers split their last two one win and one draw. They have not gone three unbeaten on the road since the start of 2024.
