Real Madrid are grappling with injury but have been able to scrape through so far and will be seeking a positive result in their Champions League clash away to Atalanta. The Italians finished second in Group D with 11 points while Real topped Group B with 10 points. Both sides have four-match unbeaten runs ahead of this meeting. Atalanta are coming straight from a crucial 4-2 win over Napoli, and have now scored 11 goals in the last four matches. If they can carry this form to this Champions League clash, they’d have a good advantage heading to Spain. However, some tweaking still needs to be done in defence with the team having conceded six goals in the four matches. They have seen over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last 10 matches, with both sides scoring in eight of the 10. Atalanta have failed to score in just one of the last 11 matches. In the group stages, they did well, winning three of the six, keeping three clean sheets and head here unbeaten in three Champions League matches. The side will travel without up to nine key players, including skipper Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Eden Hazard and Dani Carvajal. Karim Benzema is also a doubt for this game. Despite the long injury list, Real have managed to stay among the top contenders for titles in the season and this game is another opportunity. They’ve scored in each of their last eight matches and have three straight away wins ahead of this game. In the last five Champions League matches, they’ve lost once, and scored at least two goals in all but one game at the group stage. In the last 13 matches in this competition, Real have failed to score in just one but have only one win in the last four away from home. Their only clean sheet in five Champions League games came against Italian side Internazionale, and they’ve conceded two goals in three of the last four away matches.
