Atalanta need to get back into winning ways having no wins in their last three league games. They are down to ninth and host Fiorentina who are just one place above the relegation zone.  Wednesday saw them get a late goal at Ajax to again qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League. Now they return to league action where they are 12 points behind leaders AC Milan and six points off the final Champions League place. The season had begun well for them though to say the least. They won their first three league matches, scoring 13 goals in the process and topping the table. Then, they lost to both Napoli and Sampdoria, conceding seven goals. A win at bottom-of-the-table Crotone followed but since then Atalanta have drawn with Inter and Spezia and last weekend lost 2-0 at home to Verona. Home form is a worry for Atalanta with only one league win this season. That was their opening fixture, since then they have just one point from three games. The win over Ajax means they have one loss in their last six league and cup games, though three have been drawn.

Fiorentina are struggling down at the bottom of Serie A. Only nine points have been earned from their ten league games. After winning their opening league match, Fiorentina lost the next two and then drew at newly promoted Spezia. A frustrating set of results as they led 3-2 at Inter, before losing 4-3. At Spezia, they were 2-0 up in four minutes but went home with a 2-2 draw. They beat Udinese at home in their next match but have continued to struggle with just two points from their last five Serie A games. They went four games without scoring until a 1-1 home draw with Genoa last weekend. They went behind in the 89th minute of that game but equalized a minute later. Away form has seen Fiorentina get just two points from their five games with only Crotone earning less points. After scoring five goals in their first two away games, they have failed to score in the last three. Atalanta can end a good week with a home win.
