The last time Aston Villa won a league game it was August and the season had only just begun. As the year ends they are rock bottom and ten points from safety. At least they have managed a couple of draws recently which is almost like championship winning form for Villa.  With away games against Norwich and Sunderland coming up in the next week, Villa have got to find a win from somewhere. West Ham are also in poor form with seven games played since their last win. Then again they have drawn their last four games so they're also on a four game unbeaten run though it probably doesn't feel like that. Injuries have taken their toll on West Ham and the lack of a strong squad has shown. The last three West Ham games have ended in a 0-0 draw so with Villa not exactly banging in goals, this could easily be a low-scoring draw that won't really help either side that much.
