Aston Villa had a great run towards the end of the Championship campaign but failed to win their last two matches. They will be keen to restart this chapter on their best form and a game against West Brom is not an easy one by all means. Prior to their loss in the last game, Villa were on a run of 12 unbeaten matches, with 10 of those being wins. They had gone on a run of 10 straight wins before drawing with Leeds United. Before their loss to Norwich, which came at Villa Park, Aston Villa had five straight wins at home and they will have the confidence going to this clash. They have been scoring regularly at home and this is their last chance to shine at home this season. Villa have failed to score at home in just one of the last 10 matches and that came against West Brom; perhaps this is a good chance to get back at West Brom who have also gone unbeaten against Villa in the last four matches and in the process Villa have scored in only one game. With six wins in the last 10 matches, West Brom will have the feeling they can take something from the first leg, given their good run against Villa. Four points separated the two sides at the close of the regular season but that will not matter here; West Brom also have one win in the last five matches. Their away form has however not been great as they have no win in the last four matches and have just one win in the last six away matches.
