Aston Villa have been all but doomed for months now. Finally the maths don't add up and they were officially relegated last weekend. Since then it's been controversy all the way with arguments between players and the media and board members resigning. Villa are in deep trouble both on and off the pitch and it's going to take some sorting out if they want to mount a promotion challenge in the Championship next season. On the pitch they have lost their last nine games scoring three times and conceding 25. Their poor suffering fans have seen them lose their last five league games by an aggregate of 17-2 and that after a run of eight points from four games that gave them a little bit of hope. You might wonder why I'm going for Saints to win here but only three stars. I've followed football long enough to know that teams who get relegated suddenly start playing well and get some wins. I'm not sure Villa have that in them but I'm still a bit wary. Southampton are in seventh place and still hoping to get into the Europa League. They probably need to win nearly all of their remaining games to do that and catch West Ham. They've only won one of their last three league games and one of their last four on the road. This is a golden opportunity for them and should get three points here.
