Aston Villa vs Sheffield United Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

This is the first Premier League fixture to be played since the go-ahead was given to resume the season. Aston Villa are one from bottom but a home win over seventh placed Sheffield United will take them out of the relegation zone. Villa are two points from safety but do have a game in hand on their rivals. Games in hand aren't much use if you don't get points from them though. Villa were in poor form before the season was suspended with four straight league losses, the last being a 4-0 thrashing away at Leicester City. Home form is a bit more encouraging with five wins this season in the league, including two in the last four. Those were vital wins against fellow strugglers, Watford and Norwich City. Their last nine league games have seen them fail to keep a clean sheet but both teams scored in five of their last six at Villa Park.

Sheffield United would not have expected to be seventh in the Premier League in mid-June. Then again, they'd have thought their time would be spent watching Euro 2020. United still have a good chance of qualifying for Europe next season (whenever that might begin). They are in seventh and only five points behind fourth placed Chelsea, who they have still to play at home. The Blades are also in the last eight of the FA Cup, so it's going to be an exciting few weeks for them. United had a dip in form in December and January but then bounced back with 10 points out of 12 before the league was suspended. Away form has seen them lose just two out of 13 but seven have been drawn. Those 13 games have produced just 25 goals with under 2.5 goals scored in all but two of them. They defend well on their travels with only 12 conceded in the Premier League this season. Of that dozen conceded, six were scored by Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. United have only scored two in their last four away league games and the tip here is for under 2.5 goals in the game.
