Aston Villa vs Reading Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
Aston Villa are fourth in the table after being held to a goalless draw at Hull City on Friday. That leaves them nine points behind the second and final automatic promotion place and they have played a game more than Cardiff. They are eight points ahead of seventh place so a couple more wins should guarantee them a play-off place and the chance to get back into the Premier League. Villa have gone three league games without a win and their last home game saw a 3-1 loss to QPR. That defeat ended a run of ten home league games without defeat and they have only lost two Championship games at Villa Park this season.
Reading are down at the other end of the table and are 19th just five points above the relegation zone and that gap could be closer come this game on Tuesday. After a managerial change they improved their chances of surviving relegation with a 1-0 home win over QPR on Friday. That win ended a run of nine league games without a win during which time they had earned only four points. Away form this season has seen Reading win just one of their last nine away league games and that was at Burton Albion who are in the bottom three at present. With just five away league wins all season this is going to be a tough task for the Royals and you should back Villa to get a welcome home win.

Our Aston Villa vs Reading Prediction
Aston Villa did well to get a draw in a tricky away game at Hull City. They need to get back in winning ways to build some momentum before the play-offs as their hopes of automatic promotion to the Premier League seem to be diminishing. They are strong at home with just two league defeats all season and can get three points against Reading who are struggling down at the bottom end of the table..
