Now here's a bit of a puzzle. Between them Aston Villa have two home wins all season and Newcastle just two away from home. Yet Newcastle are the odds on favourites to win the game as they bid to avoid relegation to the Championship. Villa have actually scored four goals in their last two league games, well that's what happens isn't it when getting relegated lifts the weight off your shoulders. Trouble is Villa have conceded seven goals in that pair of games. That's 11 straight defeats for Villa who can't wait for the season to end but can't be looking forward to the summer of upheaval that lies ahead. Their last six home games have ended in losses with four goals scored and 21 conceded. Part of me thinks a good performance has to come along sometime and they did lead at Watford last week till conceding two last minute goals. They take on Newcastle whose away form is the reason they are in the mess they are. One point above the bottom three but having played a game more and with Spurs at home on the final day. They have gone ten games without an away win and had lost nine in a row until that 2-2 draw at Liverpool. Their form is decent with eight points from the last four games. If ever they needed an away win it's here and with Villa's defence so dodgy I think Newcastle can get a vital three points.
